I
am Catarina Lopes, a Portuguese scientific researcher working in the area of
physical materials. I performed a PhD in
the University of Minho, Portugal, where I worked in the area of electroactive
polymer composites. Recently I got a post-doctoral position in BCMaterials,
Basque Country-Spain, under a Marie Skłodowska-Curie Action fellow with the
project BIDMAG- Biological Detection with Functionalized Magnetic Sensor.
Despite
my huge interest in science since I was young, the commonly reported idea of a
solitary life among the laboratory material, always pushed me away from a
scientific research live.
Later,
during my master, I understood the dynamic of this interesting world
where we continuously can
know new people and new places... I realized that my previous idea was
very far from reality!! Collaborating with people from all over the
world is almost mandatory! We can share our ideas as well as our
costumes and traditions.
The
scientific life is far from loneliness… Student exchange programs, meetings,
conferences, national and international secondments… All this is part of a
scientific research life… Is part of a BCMaterials research life!
With
this blog I intend to share the day-by-day of BCMaterials…
The projects, the collaborations, the conferences, the meetings, the travels,
…, …, …
